Social Entrepreneurship: Social Entrepreneurs in India

An entrepreneur is simply a person, who is willing to risk and start a new venture. When the word social is added to entrepreneur, it withholds non for profit activities. An social entrepreneur could be anyone, and these bought about a revolution in the world today. Social Entrepreneurs are designing, launching and running their businesses and making sure it is approved financially. Bringing the idea and making it feasible to implement. The gaps are filled with an ultimate goal of serving the needs of people. Social entrepreneurs in the aging days have mesmerized the youth in their own hype. The idea that unravels itself somewhere beyond just making money and capitalizing on every opportunity that ever existed. The word social is executed in the context of delivering a service that's is deeply associated with humanity and doing the greater good. The ideas standby the term ‘greater good’ - forming and norming a group of people who think and act in a same way.


Lakshyam is an NGO which believes and appreciates the idea of social entrepreneurship. Working for the women helping them to get employed and empowering them in the society. And helping the kids to have an access to education and unlocking the doors of hope, light and vision.  The founder Raashi Aanand is walking image of the idea. She founded Lakshyam, an NGO in the year 2012, an organization which is now on the world map for which she later received “youngest social worker” award by the Navratan foundation in the following year 2013 and various other titles have come her way as she grew her organization Being the founder she has so far proved herself to be the quintessential idol for all the aspiring social entrepreneurs. Today, Lakshyam is spread across seventeen Indian states, catering to the needs of millions of underprivileged women and children. Lakshyam has three successful programs running under its flagship namely, Butterfly – Child welfare and development program, Rooh – Awakening women’s. The first ne caters to the holistic development of child, from education, to extra-curricular activities, also overall personality development, while the other one works for women empowerment. Lakshyam ensures to provide financial and skill development of the ladies.  Thus, Affecting and changing lives of many women and children.

Working for the society is something that is highly undervalued and the reason for it is people are just not appreciated enough. It could be because it lacks money driven opportunities   as we human are fond of money. And for us money derives the value in a practice. Ms. Raashi Aanand who is leading us through her dream of making the change, that would change the world. Lakhsyam is an NGO that provides the unprivileged section of the society, their basic right to education, employment and empowerment. Proving them a place to stay and access to clean water.
