Volunteer Programmes in India

Volunteering is the fundamental element of the society which helps in building collective happiness and peace across the whole society.  It ensures peace, freedom, equality, justice, opportunity for all people. Volunteering is the noblest way to save mankind and spread love care, enthusiasm. In this era of speedy globalisation and modernity the world is becoming complex and independent, for saving the moral values of the human beings volunteering is the most effective and important tool.

The principle and responsibility include:
Empower people to exercise their fundamental rights as human beings
Educating peoples to help in solving environmental, social, economical, cultural problems 
Also motivates people to bring involvement of volunteers, developing financial resources and infrastructures, removing legal hurdles in participation etc.  

It is an activity performed in the non-profit sector, also it is not a substitute for paid work. Which means it is not that kind of activity which promotes the replacement of paid workers or creating a threat to the job securities of paid workers.  

Lakshyam is a volunteering programme in India and was founded in the year 2012 by Ms. Raashi Anand, which mainly focuses on child welfare and women empowerment. This programme is active in 17 states and changed 30,000 plus lives by providing their efficient services. Lakshyam is contributing to the welfare of child and women by initialization of programmes named as Butterfly, Rooh and Toy Library.

Butterfly – A Child Welfare Programme helps the substandard children who are forced to quit schooling and start labour works due to the financial conditions of there family. The programme provides them with education, food and shelter. The services provided are free of cost and educational services are given on door to door basis. About 600 children are benefited from this programme.



Rooh – Awakening Woman’s Soul Programme assists mistreated women. Women of India are facing some serious issues regarding equality. They are not treated equally to men. The programme helps women in providing skills and education to there children. The programme also includes developing proper sanitation and educate them about menstrual hygiene. Skills taught include stitching, tailoring etc. which build a self-reliant personality in them. 300 plus woman got benefitted from this programme. 

Toy – Library is a programme which boosts and develop creative skills among poor children. Due to financial problems, they are unable to get the childhood which they need.  Only education cannot make them a good person. A child needs to be fostered from its childhood. A Toy Library is created to foster a child and helps them in building proper moral values.   
Volunteers can help and choose programs format he above mentioned. They have an array of opportunities to work on like teaching subjects, computer, dancing, singing to the children at the centre. They can also work for backhand operations like in office for data management, analysis, amongst other various options.

Lakshyam NGO, together with its volunteers developed an interest to provide a committed and supportive working environment for the welfare of securing self-esteem and dignity of every person living in the society. People who come forward to enhance their efforts by providing their skills will be a great help to the voluntary sector. This brings a cluster of values and skills, talent and can enhance their moral values by helping others.
